photoshop montages what to save as??

I was having a look through my gallery and realised some of the pics really suck compared to the actual ones I have on my Laptop.

I have had a look at my montages and found I have been saving them as Jpeg medium quality sometimes low. This has been due to the file size limitations on CMON.

Having a browse through the galleries and checking properties of the images I have found some are way over the normal file size limitation .

I was wondering really what is the best way to make sure my pics stay truer to their from the camera form ..

Save at higher saving a smaller image size??
put less angles in the photo and just concentrate on clear clean front and back??

Any other suggestions..
Cheers
Rob

In Photoshop there\'s the \"Save for web\" alternative. This function optimises on-screen picture quality in such a way that you can reduce file size much more and remain a seemingly high picture quality.

I don\'t know what software you use and if other software than Photoshop have this feature, but it\'s a really great feature that I wouldn\'t want to be without! :)

Use the Save for web function (ctrl-shift-alt+S on a PC). You can change the quality by setting a value from 1-100 and you\'ll see the file size in the lower left corner. The picture as you see it in the dialogue box is a preview of the picture as it will look with the current setting.

This function will give you better on-screen image quality for the same file size than the normal Save function. That is, you can decrease the file size more and maintain an acceptable image quality.

The normal Save function will not let you preview the image as it will be with the jpg comrpession setting you chose as you save. That way you can be chocked at how crappy the photo looks once you\'ve uploaded it (unless you open it again in PS to inspect it first).
