picture size

This may need to be on the photography thread but as it isnt to do with cameras ill put it here.

When i ve taken my pics i GIMP them until they are 400 along and then put them on CMON however they are still really big whether they are at 400 or 300.They are the same size how can i make my pics smaller for CMON??

Are you talking about file size (in bytes) or dimensions (in pixels)?

Im not sure but its the actual size on the screen.In pixels/cm etc

Well, if you reduce the image size to 400 px in width from what it was before (which would be a lot more if the photo comes straight from your camera) it will be smaller since you have reduced the number of pixels that it\'s made up of. I\'m not sure what you have done so that the picture appears to be the same size. Do you view the image at actual size or have you zoomed in or out?

pixels or cms? If you are resizing using cm then 400 or 300 will be to big so they will be resized automatically (hence ending up the same on the site.

Bill... if you are looking for an easy download and a useful piece of software to crop, edit, change levels etc... this is pretty good for free. It\'s pretty bloody easy to use too

7\"? Without it being verifyable, I am SURE you need to get your eyes checked....


@cadian....I have noticed a few of your images when moderating pics, and they are TOO big, BYTE wise. They need to be right around the 200k to be accepted. Most programs will tell you the size.
