Get great steak pies here in NZ lots of meat which I dont really remember in british pies. You had to round up the solitary piece with a spoon and then showed it off to your friends cos they\'d never believe you found actual meat in your meat pie. Having said that Kiwi pies (meaning made in new zealand not of a rare native bird, which would be illegal for starters and taste bad too...........erm so I was told .......erm by bloke in a pub....yeah thats it) do seem to have a tendancy to be mince pies and not in the christmas sense of the word. Also if its not a mince pie it will likely as not have cheese in it. And there is one pie place that puts in peas too.
And doesnt tell you.

Not that I say something so overwhelmingly deep and undisputable, but when barkel chimes in the topic is obviously exhausted.
If anyone told me they were having Kiwi pie, the last thing I would think of was pie made from the little birdie. I would sooner think it was pie made from a New Zelander. Or perhaps, pie made from the kiwi fruit.
Where I am from the traditional regional pie is pecan. However, we are also pleased with pumpkin, sweet potato, and apple. 90% of men and 10% of women also enjoy a special pie here, but it is in no way an isolated regional pleasure.

ps. My boss recently asked my co-worker if I was \"Happy\" at my job. (I am not.) My co-worker was warning me that my \"attitude\" of late was getting noticed. This is exciting. If I push my luck a little more I may be doing minis full time in the near future.

mine are not.from the local greggs s+k are 65p but the butchers do a good pork pie for 50p or 2 for a pound.

For those of you who are not familiar with Caliver Books this is a plug!
I went there on Saturday as they are the nearest stockist of Vallejo paints. It is the only games related shop that my wife doesn\'t mind looking round as it caters for a wide range of hobbies including re-enactment societies.
Browsing the books my wife found a book on Old English Tarts. (oi! you dirty minded lot, not that kind of tart!)
Now I\'m just waiting for baking day
