Pimp my Basilisk ! (orky WIP\'s)

For someone with a Username of ORKYdave, there are not a lot of orks in my gallery! I have LOADS of orkybits but, all paintede to my tabletop standard and all painted B.C (before Coolmini!) so I have chosen not to offend your eyes with them! lol

However, a combination of the new ork stuff at Gamesday, along with the fact that my army will be in the GW Coventry Cabinets very soon has lead me to \'pimp my orks\' ! xibit and Westwood eat your hearts out!

(p.s- Tim westwood, if you are reading this YOU ARE WHITE!!!!!)

Starting with my looted basilisk.

BEFORE

As you can see, orky, but not quite orky enough!

PIMPED (but unpainted!)

A few more bits to add, like barbed wire round the cannon, and the new black orc sheilds, but you get the idea!

Will keep you updated with the progress of this, and my head has gone all orky again, so expect some cool things on this thread!

Here is an ork I started for 4ok singkle for Gamesday (admittedly, I started him at 4am the saturday morning- probably not my best idea!) Unsuprisingly he never got done in time so I shall keep you updated with him in this WIP too!

Also - the skin on the ork fella is excellent.

Nice looking work Dave.The Basillisk upgrades are looking good.After seeing the new stuff at GD I\'m looking forward to starting some Orks..good to see they are bringing some of the humour back...Squig Bombs Yeah!!!.And as you are about to face them as a staffer might as well start the nob gags..

the crows nest looks good not sure if the pink barrel on one of the pics is premenate or not, but a bit odd.
i love that Gamesday nob have always wanted one of those. so much more character. lol

GW knew what they were doing when they picked that name for the bosses! Short for Noble? there nothing noble about an ork!

That is indeed the limited edition Gamesday figure, from 1996 I believe. I didn\'t get him from gamesday though. Picked him up from Ebay NIB, about a year ago for a tenner, which I didn\'t think was extortionate for a 10 yr old limited edition mini.

The pink barrel is an orkified felt tip pen lid just blu -tacked on ATM for ease of painting, but will be permenant. Just looks odd now because its bright pink! Keep the faith, it will be orky!

Got a teensey tiny bit more done on the ork tonight, not much more to go but my brain hurts so its probably a good time to stop now!

Razza mentioned something about \'spot colours in a fairly recent White dwarf \'eavy metal article, and I have tried to do that with the reds. To be honest, I didn\'t quite get what the article was saying, so don\'t know if it has worked?

That\'s a limited edition GD model? I bought one of those in a local model shop for $13 and it was still in its old package. it was just labelled \"Ork Nob\" How much do they usually sell for?

Finished the Gamesday guy, but can\'t get any decent photo\'s of him!!

Also, here is a converted scorcha!

Plus a trukk and some trukkboys! The trukk isn\'t finished yet, and the trukkboys have tyres for shoulderpads.
