pinning bases / base issue

this was briefly described in the last topic i started, but i\'m someone who can\'t really learn without seeing examples, so can someone show me how to pin minis to bases?

the reason i would like to know is i\'m horrible at basing minis. i always get glue and sand on the feet, and i just can not seem to do it right, so is there a way to pin them to the base so that they\'re feet are just high enough off the ground as to prevent glue and such from getting on the feet?

is there another way to prevent this?

thanks in advance.

You put the pin in the minis foot, then after the base is finished, drill a hole in it and glue the mini on. Simple as that!

Trouble with basing as described above is that the figures feet will stand above the sand and look \"wrong\" almost as if it\'s floating.
The best way to base a figure is to take as much time over the application of the glue as you would the paint.

If you have a look through the top level of the galleries you\'ll see many examples of bases, done in lots of ways. There is no One True And Only Way.
