Chav-dog no. 1!
My thoughts exactly! The owner of that dog probably never saw a porcupine before and had no idea what it was and thought:

My bad-ass dog will rip that thing to pieces! Hehe...

Yeah, that looks pretty painful. But the text below the pics is wrong. Pit bulls do know when to quit. I\'ve dealt with a few of them.
Like any domestic dog, if you jam your thumb into its cheek, and push it between its teeth, the dog won\'t bite itself.
Granted, a pit bull will thrash about a lot longer than most other breeds, trying to get free of that kind of grip.

Also, managing to GET that grip on a pit bull isn\'t very easy, when it\'s trying to bite you. If you get attacked, your best bet is to try to get your fore-arm into it\'s mouth, and then keep kicking it as hard as you can. Or better yet, belly-flop onto it. Yes, your arm will get torn up pretty good, but odds are it\'ll stop moving first.

Bloody tough little buggers. Good thing the majority of them are actually sweet-hearts.
But keep them away from children, anyway.

We had a Pit Bull when I was a kid and lived on a farm. That was years ago, before they had the \'bad rep\' they have today. We bought him when we took a family trek to California for vacation (8 people, luggage, stationwagon...this was probably the basis for the movie VACATION w/ Chevy Chase)

Joker, as we named him, thrived on the farm, keeping skunks, foxes, badgers away. But he was also very territorial, and killed the neighbors dog out in a field. That got him a backside filled with buckshot from the neighbor.

When we finally moved to town, we gave him to another farmer, and apparently Joker snapped and started killing livestock...The farmer had to put him down.

Despite his demeanor, he was very protective and loving towards our family.

I agree though because of their tougher than nails nature that many sick twits breed them for fighting and then take pleasure when they kill things.

I would never even consider having one now.

lol Why do I get the image of a Ferrari iconed Vauxhall Astra in a grainy PVC Union Jack paint job with fur on the dashboard? The Kappa-Slappa flashing 2ct gold and filing her nails in front, while three sprogs and the bull terrier fight for space in the back seat? Maybe because I\'ve seen it before! The owner of the Ferrari must\'ve been pissed off at his badge being stolen.

Seriously, lions eat porcupines, but always try to tackle them head on, flipping them over with a paw to get to the soft bits. Those lions are damn cautious too, but always end up with one or two spines in their noses. Long spines in their noses... that pit bull is covered in short spines, not one single long one. Something seems fishy, so many spines all over the dogs body, but not a single long one. And to get so many spines stuck in it, it would\'ve had to roll on the porcupine\'s carcass.

Did you guys see the first story there!?

I think the guy that was killed by the horse is a much funnier story! lol

Dogs, and grounded animals in general, do not see as well as humans. They have a hard time identifing babies and small children as \'human\', seeing something small and blurry (to them) crawling around on their territory is whats sets the animals off. This is especially true of excessively territorial dogs, like Pit bulls, German sheperds, Dobermans, and Huskies. The more territorial an animal is, the more likely it will attack a child, and since Pit Bulls are probably the most agressive in that regard they can\'t be trusted. I know someone that had two, and one attacked his kid! It wasn\'t even a stranger, they just left them alone for two minutes. The kids arm got chewed up pretty bad, but he was fine otherwise. The problem is, you can NEVER TRUST THEM, because you don\'t know when they will turn. I\'ve heard stories of people owning them for years and then one day... Psycho Puppy!

I saw that, and actually heard about that story a week or so ago..(although in the version I heard, the guy didn\'t die)

The scary thing was, I think he was the catcher, and not the pitcher.... ???

Well, it\'s always curious to read about other people\'s stupidity, like that brain surgeon who got positively rodgered by the stallion, but now... I get to try out my own stupidity, with a recipe for TATP!!! Woohoo! Ka-boom! :D
