Plague Marine WIPs

Further to my Blight Drone WIP thread, I thought I ought to start one for my many Plague Marines. Shamefully, seven of these (#2-8) were started in the summer of 2005 (gasp) and due to \'sculptors block\' (i.e. laziness, poor planning and \'other commitments\'...) they are still incomplete.

Well, there\'s my work so far. As you can see, #2 is complete (sculpting wise at least), just need to finished the paint job! I\'ll post some WIP updates and comments as and when I get time. Thanks for looking - your thoughts are welcome!

Brief update to mini #6:

Green stuff, brown stuff, Procreate and plastic piping. The severed head will be held by its hair piece / pony tail, so I need some good reference material to make it convincing...

Cheers guys! These have been great fun to sculpt and nice exploratory pieces (hence the 'everything but the kitchen sink approach...), but have taken a shamefully long time to complete! I've just received some Instant Mold from the CMON shop so hopefully it'll speed up backpack / weapons / shoulder pads and the like.

This particular mini has been the recipient of a few cast offs I've not been willing to part with: the mutated arm originally belonged to mini #5 (but was way too big) - I found it filled the void suitably, and the severed head was a Procreate practice piece.

Had some excess putting so started bulking out #7s backpack:

I think this mini has some good ideas but has suffered from a terrible lack of planning. I have a lot to correct! I need to research the head... The procreate (grey) around the mouth is meant to be a stretched membrane suggesting a mutation from its previous form. There is much work remaining...

Cheers mate - that's a real compliment. Think I'll use these particular sculpts as concept minis, revisiting one or two in a new-and-improved fashion once complete (casting may be on the cards). These are old, old minis that should have been complete long ago. They've been real learning minis as I'm still using them to figure out composition and develop my spacial awareness and realisation in 3D.
