This is my first mini for quite a while and one that i am really happy with. I feel that a little like reverend i have had a new sense of excitment towards the hobby.

I looked at my work and realised that i was turning out some okay work but nothing that really pushed me or improved my technique at all. Therefore on this mini i really took my time and tried to inprove my neatness as this is one part of my work which is a little lacking.

I havent managed to get the mini as tidy as i would like but i think it is an imporvement on the last few pieces. So without further ado here is the mini!

Really nice, espescially the base. Personally i would have done the pipes a contrasting colour to give it some variety and i would also have done the eye lenses a brighter colour.

Will this be making an appearance at gamesday i wonder??

Alex

the pipes on his right shoulder are green and blue which stand out a little however not on the photo for some reason. Yep this mini along with some others will be going to gd. Oh and my lotr entry is a little pearshaped. Ive totally lost all enthusiam for it and i lost his base so ill have to make a new one:mad:

I got the base from historex agents. i use it for lots of minis. Im so tight!!

I do the same, all my plinths are spraycan and deoderant lids at the moment lol.

If i was you i would throw a colourd glaze over the mouth tube and on the bit where his guts are spilling out.

Looks like you achieved the rusty/decayed look very well. Though I would definitely say the eyes could be a bit lighter.

needs some weathering streaks as well as some other colours working into the cracks etc.

if you have it with you at gd and you see me, grab me and i\'ll explain better what i mean mate.

nice work, and your steadily improving which is realy cool to see :)

Really like this one - lovingly different from most nurgle. I\'d go with a bit more weathering as well.

Is this a GW or FW mini and where does that sword come from?

this is an old gw model and the sword is the powersword that comes with the plastic csm. i just shaved it into shape with my x-acto knife.

Very nice work James! You\'ve carried off the weathering effect really well, especially on the base I think - the damaged stripe is great. You\'ve massively improved your neatness too.

Only things I\'d change are the eyes (I think they should be a lot brighter for OSL, without the black inside, or maybe just ditch the OSL altogether) and perhaps add a bit more definition to the metals, some shading around the rims of his shoulder pads would particularly help IMO.

really nice realistic look. i agree about brighter eyes to help create a focal point on the mini, kind of hard to find one at the moment, but otherwise i think its great
