Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make a plain textured game board? Not textured with sand, but textured like this fire industries monkey---

I merely want that sorta concrete sorta old school rock way look on the terrain they got there. It looks usable in both fantasy and sci fi settings - therefore me like-ah-a-lotta!

Celluclay????

also, then what --- do I sand it down? I could take some plasticard that is embossed with slight stones as well... but what if I just used the plaster stuff...

I personally think that looks more like vinyl /cushionfloor flooring. If there is a carpet store near you go check it out - would be fairly cheap to coat a board and would be pre textured/painted too. You may even be able to pick up a remnant/offcut for even cheaper too.

Hi!
You might look into particle boards or oriented strand boards. Just break up the surface to create the needed texture. They are cheap and can be cut into modular size. Also, if you dont build any texture (apart from breaking the surface) you can easily stack the modules. If the board is too hard to break, just wet it a bit and let the water unglue the board.
