Planning a conversion, where to get the bits?

Hi, I used to collect Necrons and Black Templar a year or three ago, many times I attempted to convert the necrons with rather ugly results, but this time I\'m older and wiser. I plan on starting up a collection of Tyranids with a broodlord conversion to match the battlegear he\'ll have, for this I\'ll need these bits:

-Tyranid Warrior Rending Claws
-Tyranid Warrior back carapace
-Tyranid Warrior extended carapace
-Genestealer Feeder Tendrils
-4 Hormagaunt Sything Talons

The plan is to make something similar to this: http://www.coolminiornot.com/207785 (Which I think looks AWESOME)

Problem is, I can\'t find anywhere online that ships to Australia, I tried thewarstore.com but it says there\'s no checkout system and I don\'t want to make a very expensive phone call overseas :(

Is there anywhere online that stocks these bits I can purchase from?

Thanks, and my apologies if this is in the wrong section, not quite sure where it\'d fit.

Rather than a phone call, send thewarstore.com an email; it might take a couple days of back-and-forth communicating, due to time zone differences, but I\'m sure they could sort you out.

I\'d also normally recommned BitzBox -- www.bitzbox.co.uk -- I\'m in the U.S. and they\'re in the U.K. but I still use them for most of my bits orders, their quite reasonable international shipping rates being a big part of the reason why. Unfortunately, though, their site is down at the moment. And error page that was up a day or two ago said it would likely be few days as the trouble might result in them switching hosts. But if you can hold a little bit, they\'re worth checking out.

You could also try this eBay shop: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Hoard-O-Bits -- I usually use them as a last resort, but I have bought many items on many occasions and have always had good service.

Hope this helps.

Hey mate,

An Australian store Ive recently found but havent had the chance to order from yet is the-war-lord.com.au/

They seem to only do bits for 40k, but for what your wanting to do, they should be all you need. And Im guessing the postage costs will be cheaper as well.

If you use them let me know how it goes. I might use them in the future if they are any good.

Best of luck

Nat

Sadly, they only seem to have bulk bits, rather then single bits, but I think I may make use of them for some bits, so I will let you know how that works :)

Uh... dunno, but do you have any Tyranid players somewhere around? LGS or something? Being a horde army, any given player is likely to have pretty much any part in his bits box. (Except maybe the TW back carapace, unless he has some left over from some conversion...) Maybe try asking around some, if that\'s a possibility. Might even try the Trading post forum on here, in case you haven\'t already done so.

I\'ve had really prompt and just overall great service from the \"hoard-o-bitz\" seller on eBay! I\'d recommend him/her to anyone.

Thanks for the ebay store, I\'ve sent them an email asking if they can supply the pieces I need as one rather then buying the seperate auctions with the extra pieces - can\'t wait to hear back from them :D

Off Topic: I can\'t seem to be rid of this random female avatar that somehow made its way into my profile :(

Just to clarify: when I included Hoard-O-Bits in my initial post, I made a comment that they were my last resort -- that shouldn\'t be taken to mean that I don\'t whole-heartedly recommend them, though. The reasons why I\'d try the regular stores first (BitzBox, who\'s back up, first because they\'re cheaper, and WarStore second) is because 1) I don\'t have to wait for auction bidding to end; and 2) if I\'m buying what would be a half-dozen auctions\' worth of items from Hoard O Bits, shipping and start to add up. But I have bought large quantities from HoB on each of several different occasions and have always been extremely pleased and, like a prior poster suggested, they did put something I\'d needed up on auction for me after a polite request, so that\'s definitely worth a try.
