Plastic Wings?

Hey,

Does anyone know of a good source for plastic wings for conversions? Both demon-type and angel-type wings, if possible. They will be going onto the WOTC prepainted minis, so metal is out of the question.

My first thought is some warhammer figs, but I don\'t know if they would have any good ones, or even if it\'s possible to buy bits from GW.

Thanks for any ideas...

I think your best bet would be the games workshop wood elf forrest dragon wings, or the balrog (or fell beast of the ringwraith) wings, as these are both plastic and pretty big.

the pegasus knights wings from gw are plastic. they are a little statis but that could be remedied with a careful aplication of heat....

also there is an angel type dude from ilyad games who has the best. wings. ever. and they are resin. i don\'t know if oyu can buy them singly though

Thanks guys, but I\'m actually looking for smaller wings that would go on a humanoid size 32mm fig (standard size). Any ideas about that?

old hormagaunt (i think - the flying ones anyway) have demonic wings as do the harpies. you\'ll struggle with smaller feathery wings i think. i\'m sure the pegasus ones could be clipped a little (maybe)

did they ever make warmaster stuff in plastic?
I just discovered that Warmaster giant eagle and dragon wings are pretty good for 28mm humans.

The D&D Protectar isn\'t a bad choice either. It\'s an uncommon from Giants of Legend and so comparatively cheap (cheaper than buying wings from GW, let me tell you). The wings pop right out.

I used half a dozen to make a chichimec some time back.

Thanks EArkham, those wings will do just the trick for the angel types. Very nice! Cheap too. :D

I\'m trying to find the harpies on the GW website, but unfortunately (and really f***ing annoyingly  ) the search feature is not working. I found these on the UK site:
http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=9947021204806&orignav=9

But I can\'t figure out which army the harpies are in! Maybe one of you could tell me? The ones on the UK website cost 1.20 pounds, with shipping and all they\'d be pretty expensive (assuming I can find them on the US website).

Sorry for the rant....don\'t mean to take it out on you guys, you\'ve already helped me out tremendously! :)

Harpies are used in Dark Elves fantasy armies.

Furies have as similar sized wing and are chaos demons (should be in both 40K and fantasy chaos sections).

Thanks again Kep.

By the way, the tutorials on your site are awesome! The wing one was especially appreciated by me. ;)

Really though, some nice tutes on topics that you can\'t find anywhere else. I hope more are coming? :D

Thanks! Yuppers, more are coming. Just no idea when, since I\'m crazy stressed/busy with working on GD ATL entries this week and next week will be several commissions that have been waiting for me to be done with GD entries... <G>

Incidently, have you tried looking in toy stores for wings? I\'ve seen several large sets (like McFarlane dragons) that would be great for demons, hive tyrants, etc, but figure stores would probably have the smaller ones, too.
