Hi guys please help I have justgot a Finepix s5600
the problem I am having is doing close shots.
general full frontal of minis isn\'t a problem however as soon as I try to get any close detail. The mage just blurs.
Any help anyone can give me with regard settings to use etc would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.

I don\'t know that exact camera, but some general tips:

check that you are in macro mode (the little flower icon normally)
check the auto focus mode - small center spot - continuous or do you have to push the button half way?
finally, read the manual.

i concur....

Ya gotta remember, Demonherald, that the camera can never work as smoothly as the human eye. Try putting a newpaper about 2cm from your face and try to read it. Hurts, doesn\'t it? Your eyes cannot focus well on something that close. Same thing with a camera.

Instead, let the lens do it for you! Try pulling the camera farther back (maybe a foot or two) and zooming the lens in. Not only will that help your depth of field (macro mode tends to have a VERY small depth of field), but you\'ll also find it easier to focus. If you still can\'t focus the lens, pull the camera back some more and try again until you can autofocus it.

cheers for that really helps The beauty of this whole digital camera thing is I can snap away with test shots to my hearts content.
Slowly but surely getting there just need to sort my lighting out now and should be away.
