Hi guys, i was wondering if anybody knew where to get the display plinths that you see often on winning entries..??

Well that plinth for the gnoblars there looks like it\'s just a picture frame.

Now me and pops made a few regular square plinths sometime ago.. you only need a nice block of wood thick enough to chop up and a router to carve some nice slopes into it.

If you have any friends interested in woodworking they would probably do it.. easy stuff.

I agree that that one looks like a picture frame. A couple of good sources if you don\'t have access to router & saw:

Micheals has predone round, oval and rectangle stuff. Finish sand, stain and varnish.

Check with local trophy shops, they use wooden bases too. Often have a selection to purchase (or seconds/blems that they cannot use, but you are going to cover with terrain.)

Yep, I thought so too with the visible mitres.

Quite so. My first thought was; couldn\'t the numbnut smooth those edges?

Have someone cut a block of MDF, 22 or 25 mm in thickness for you, sand it and paint it. It won\'t warp like wood will and is completely free of any surface texture -- no pores or grain whatsoever. Takes paint well to after being sealed with a primer.

Plus, it\'s cheap.
