im painting a tau piranha. Im painting it the same way as in this picture...

only difference is where the light tan is..im painting that fortress grey, and the darker tans are shadow grey. I have the basecoat down...i just dont know how to paint the camo pattern with straight neat lines as show in the picture. How do i go about doing this? i cant paint in a straight line to save my live...and i cant think of a way to mask it. Im really stuck :cussing:

draw it out first with a micron pen? Then paint over the lines to hide them.

Another option is to get some airbrush frisket and cut the pattern out lightly so you go through the frisket but not the backing. (New sharp blades). Then apply frisket, peel off sections, paint, change colors, peel off more sections, keep painting.

But I would use frisket and an airbrush.

If you want to go that route, but I\'d use electrial tape instead. Holds a tighter line and is also removable - just don\'t leave it on overnight.

Use painters masking tape which is designed for that specific purpose. Holds a perfect line AND doen\'t stick to the underlying paint.

they make liner tape, specifically for this purpose, comes VERY thin, and is basically plastic, so you can stretch it to make clean curves, rather than masking tape which is paper and will tend to buckle if you try to make curves. Most art or office supply stores should have it.

I\'m not 100% sure how it will work on this scale, but worth a shot

Look for Parafilm -- here\'s its product page at Micro-Mark if you\'re in the US, or can\'t find it in Europe if you\'re over there. It\'s designed for just this sort of thing for military modeling, so it should be just what you\'re looking for.
