Plus Models Lase Cut Leaves

Hi gang!

I received today some of the new laser cut leaves from Plus Model.

I was only able to buy the \"maple\" leaves and the \"linden\" leaves, as the \"oak\" leaves were not available at the time.

The leaves are supplied in small plastic boxes, which unfortunately are a little awkward to open and there is the potential to spill the leaves if you are not careful!

There are not many leaves in the box - certainly not compared to a bag of Hudson and Allen leaves or similar products! However, as figure modellers, we are unlikely to use huge numbers of them:

but in the box you get a reasonable number of leaves, and the detail on the is fantastic. These are laser cut leaves on coloured card/paper, and the species of tree they come from is easily recognisable, and even include stalks. The detail shot illustrates this:

Size wise, they are comparable to birch catkins, the natural material of other leaf litter manufacturers, and I estimate maybe 4 differing sizes in the box:

The top row of the picture are H&A forest litter. Bottom row left are the \"Linden\" leaves and right the \"Maple\" leaves:

As you can see, they are a little flat and 2-dimensional, but I\'m sure people will develop ways to remedy that!!

Overall, a good use of modern technology. Not many in the box, but used with sense and other products such as H&A to flesh out the leaves, potentially very useful indeed, giving an extra sense of reality to any figure or vignette.

They retail at £1.99 per box in the UK. I bought mine from http://www.netmerchants.co.uk

Very impressive. Cheers for the comparison with the H&A ones. It really does show these to be a superior product

The problem with H+A for me is the randomness of the leaves and often results in a lot being thrown away.

These look superb and at £2 a box its still good value for what I would use.
