I don\'t really have a problem with the stereotype of \'gamers\' being overweight socially inept goombas...cause it\'s kinda true.

i have only ever known a handfull of overwieght and smelly roleplayers.
maybe it\'s different in the rest of world.

It may be typical of the pro-Obama Dungeons & Dragons crowd to disparage a fellow countryman’s memory of war from the comfort of mom’s basement, but most Americans have the humility and gratitude to respect and learn from the memories of men who suffered on behalf of others.

So his remarks were aimed at Karl Rove regarding John Kerry? I had no idea Rove was an Obama supporter.

Well add me to the \"Normal list\" as I don\'t eat \"Cheeto\'s\" (or any other type of potato chip) don\'t drink Mountain Dew, regard my personal hygiene as something that is high on my daily priority list and cannot be classed as Socially Inept, rather, if anything as Garrulous.

I *do* have a problem with associating all gamers with Obama. lol
Ditto.

I went through the \"Evil D&D\" period of the late 70\'s & early 80\'s when Pat Robinson was so against it. Yet I was able to hold a weekly D&D game in a church\'s youth lounge.

@Mike, I had to go look that up. lol - you may be right. :p

That\'s funny. My table has democrats, republicans and a few independents. I didn\'t know we were for Obama. Nice of them to finally tell us. lol
True about the mix at my table too, but the majority are associated with the military and are not very pro-Oboma.

Erm...

I don\'t get what all the hubub is about?

First of all, the statement he made wasn\'t really that disparaging to others. I think the point he\'s trying to make is that folks who pretend at war find it too easy to disparage folks who really do go to war.

What is wrong with that statement?

I\'m not saying you have to agree with it, but why is he an ignorant ass for that comment?

Secondly, who the hell is the guy? Why should we give his opinion any more weight than anyone elses?

Is it because he mentions \'beloved\' D&D?

Honestly, I think people walk around LOOKING to be insulted.

Gamers have an uber-nerd reputation, they always have and they always will.

Lastly, partisan politics make me freaking ill. It\'s amazing how \'die hard republicians\' will give someone a pass on something, but if a Democrat does the same thing, it\'s a huge travesty. (and vice versa, Democrats are just as guilty of it.)

Saw this a few weeks ago. The guy did eventually make an appology for \"slandering\" the filthy unwashed masses of D&D players. Now if you will all excuse me, i need to pre-order the new D&D Forgotten Realms Players handbook. :D

I\'m not giving him a pass. He\'s an idiot and I won\'t vote for him. (but he\'s not on the ticket this trip)

Hang out in some gun forums where they talk about the Second Amendment. There\'s some serious dislike of certain party policies and people going on there.
