Polystyrene-type material used to make gaming boards/display bases

Over here it\'s called compressed polystyrene. That product comes in large boards (about one by three meters I think), and is used for the insulation of house. Hence, it can be found at do it yourself shops. Or if you know someone who is building/renovating a house, you can can always ask for the leftovers :)

Yes do a Corvus says cos the last time I tried to get a sheet they only sold it on builders packs. 25! at 6 feet by 3 feet. Ouch!

They call that extruded polystyrene over here in the states.

Like Corvus says, if you know someone who is renovating, that would be a good source. Or if you see a new construction area, just wait until a windy day....scraps are bound to come your way!

I bought a 8\'X4\' of the 3 inch thick stuff for about 7 dollars. So it is relatively cheap.

Good luck!

Good luck with B&Q

I know my B&Q doesn\'t stock this stuff, but my local builder\'s merchant does. If you have a \'Wickes\' near you they will almost certainly have it in stock.
I think, to be honest, this is more for people who are building houses from scratch, not faffing around with a bit of MDF \'Changing Room\' stylee like your average B& Q customer:D
