We all have busy/less busy cycles. Don\'t get too discouraged by a lack of time to paint, and don\'t say goodbye. Even ipaintminis has found some time to paint while at school.

Considering you are the closest CMON\'er to me geographically, are you going to college locally or ... not so locally?

Even if you only find 2 hours a week to paint its better than nothing. If you like to paint then dont quit because of time, theres always a way to find time to do something. But college is important and you should focus on that and remember the hobbie aint going no where you can always come back full force at a later date :D

I find hardly any time to paint these days, still hang about though...in my dormant state.
One day I\'ll prolly get back to it, everyone has things they need to do in life. Chin up old boy! Pip pip!

Good riddance. lol

Seriously, what you are doing is alot more important. And who knows, you might be able to paint something while on break.

You know what? I\'d recommend NOT painting! Make a concerted effort to NOT do it. Put all your painting stuff into a nice box. NOT CARDBOARD. I\'m thinking tool box, etc. Take it with you to college.

Once that tool box is safely inside your dorm room, and you know you can always pull it out, go enjoy college. Go around and explore what is out there on campus. These are four years that are very critical and don\'t spend them alone in your room painting.

After a month or two, probably right around the first set of mid-terms, you\'ll want to pull the paint box out really badly. Don\'t. It\'ll be a distraction and you\'ll want to do it and not study. Finish your studying and mid-terms, then go, ahem, have some stress relief. Painting or otherwise.

You probably don\'t know it now, but four years is a VERY short time. I strongly recommend you take time and ENJOY college. There are so many things and people to do. And don\'t worry, that paint box is in your closet. Oh, and, uh, that study thing too. lol

Yeah, we\'ll tell you when you can go ;)

The whole painting thing isn\'t everything - I\'ve barely finished a handful of minis over the past two years, full-time job, family other committments etc mean I just manage to grab an hour or so every couple of weeks. Doesn\'t stop me hanging out here and pestering the good folks all the time :D

If you have room for a permanent painting area, you can always dip in and out when get a few minutes spare. Alternatively, focus on the other things in your life but don\'t leave us just because you\'re not painting.

Unfortunately, RL always has a habit of dictating what actual time we can put aside for our hobbies. Sometimes it\'s other hobbies that interrupt *cough* world of warcraft *cough* but that\'s just life!

As other posters have said, don\'t ditch the hobby just cos you think you won\'t be on CMON for a while - heck I haven\'t been here for bloody months, but I like to pop in from time to time, catch up on posts, look at what people are doing etc and it allows me to keep a finger on the pulse. I still do models - in fact have done quite a few which I haven\'t put on CMON (yet) - but its a cool community, the majority of which ebbs and flows with what life chucks at them and people come and go accordingly.

Keep in touch when you can and as someone suggested, go buy yourself a toolbox and drag some stuff to college and it\'s there when you fancy doing something creative :D

Hey, don\'t say goodbye yet. I\'m just out (or maybe not) of two VERY intensive years study wise and I\'m back and painting again. So do what you got to do, and one day you\'ll find yourself with an urge to paint and the time to actually do it, I expect you to post a pic on CMON that day :p

I think PegaZus gave some excellent advice.

And what\'s all this about painting, anyways ??? This site have something to do with painting? Really? Oh my! I guess I should get out more and look around the place :D

Actually, in all honesty, I haven\'t painted hardly at all in quite some time. Need to get the cataracts (God! I\'m Old!!) taken care of first. Can\'t see well enough to paint at the moment. Not painting shouldn\'t stop you from at least dropping by once in a while just to say hi.

If you find yourself too busy, though, don\'t sweat it. Enjoy college and best of luck.

You have your whole life ahead of you....go adventure in the real world and leave all the land and make believe to us lot. I\'m sure some of us will still be around by the time you visit again anyways. :D

was not expecting this many replies!

its not as much the time as it is the money. the 2 combined is what im worried about. as for being local college no. gotta move 7.5 hours north and live in a shoebox they call a dorm (townhouse with 5 others each getting their own room) im gonna try and bring a 500pt tyranid army from my painted stuff as there is a hobby shop up there and i might try and learn to play.
