Possibly the LARGEST wip ever!!

Thanks guys :)

Jake, I can see we both watched a bit too much Bob Ross... lol More like happy patches of static grass, happy boulders, and occasionally a happy horse! :D

Finals are in two weeks I believe. It shouldn\'t be too bad this semester. Only one written final. Got one essay/presentation as well, but that should be cake. And two portfolios due. That\'s the good thing about having half art classes lol

Got the paladin done! Woohoo! Hope the customer likes him.

Thought the gold turned out rather nice. I\'ll have to write up a tutorial on it :) Of course it used the new Citadel Washes! :D

I think it\'s a bit of both. My photo set-up is not great, but also it could be the way I\'m painting the metallics (shading much darker to create the contrast). Hopefully the latest pictures clear anything up! :)

Neat Lord, definitely has the contrast you were looking for! Almost makes me wish I finished painting my Bretonnians before giving them away to a friend... I had that exact model almost finished at one point before I got sick of painting barding. Oh well :D

Man, it\'s been a while since I\'ve updated this thing!

I\'ve been taking advantage of the winter break by painting like a madman. So much painting that I haven\'t had the time to take pictures!

I\'ve got 30 archers and a character to post here (as well as 30 Eldar Dire Avengers ready to post in my other WIP thread) lol

Pictures to come soon! :D

Nice to see this thing still chuggin\' along. It\'s very cool to see that while their poses are all the same, you manage to give them each their own personal look with their faces, very appealing to the eyes. Great work so far and I really anticipate seeing the final shot of everything together. Great work as always, Matt!

The progress of this entire army is amazing to see. I love how all of the units flow. I wish the owner would show a shot of the entire army once it is finished up.

great work.

9 Grail Knights making their way in here tomorrow! Sorry for the lack of updates. Progress is being made on the army that\'s for sure, I\'m just not finding much time to take photos :D

School, the gym, and other things are eating up a significant amount of my time. There\'s going to be a few all-night painting sessions in my immediate future! Stay tuned folks, you haven\'t even seen \"fast\" yet!!!

Great job on the entire unit!

Fast huh? As if your stuff wasn\'t out quick enough, sheesh. I botched on my own deadline long ago. Damn school getting in the way of my hobbies...

Have a good one!

Cheers folks

Got a damsel finished up today. Next it\'s onto the next unit of archers!

The metallics are actually brighter. Something about the angle of the lights made them photograph rather dark.

Sweet, that Damsel is one of my all-time favorite sculpts. I actually just got my hands on another one from a friend, the first one I did was horribly rushed for a tournament years ago and turned out a bit worse than I would have liked.

Yours is purdy though, great skintones. Mostly the same Tallarn-based technique from before?

Cheers guys,

Yeah I love that sculpt too Jericho. I need to find another one to have a go myself :)

The skintone is similar, but I added in a touch of Snakebite Leather to the Tallarn Flesh to give it some warmth. Shaded with Ogryn Flesh wash and Devlan Mud wash, highlighted by adding in P3 Menoth White Highlight. I really like the new recipe actually, I\'ll probably write an article or something about it. :)

Nice! :) Love the sculpt as well. However I think you should mix a bit of green into the ogryn flesh wash as I find the deep shading a bit red. For added realism it is often a good idea to desaturate the deepest shadows.
