hahahaha rattan swords are crap man, you should use the safety swords that are used in the UK and europe.(they are used in films (such as braveheart etc)
the better ones look more realistic and are actualy safer.
saying that i have had my nose broken by one, i have been hit on the head hard enough to cause concussion (not easy with my head lol ) as well as bruised ribs etc.
yep, i got platemail after that season lol
pitty they banned shield wall charges as i used to be able to break most ofthem them single handedly :twisted:

Honestly, SCA fighting is usually quite safe; armor actually works unlike in the movies.

was, money and lack of time as well as bleeding safety regs (people just got soft i tell you)stopped me from doing it any more.
if you want to see real hard core then check out the German larp scene, it\'s what the UK scene was like years ago.
