this year i received a few books (some ian banks), a couple of hellboy animated dvds, some food (including chestnuts and a steel roaster thing!), some rather nice clothes and some rather appalling clothes!

I think that\'s it. All good stuff but more important is everyone I gave gifts to this year loved what I gave them even though some of the things were very cheap (bad year this year and would have liked to do some things for people here but couldn\'t). I truly love watching people open something they like.

nice, loved the fast show although it tailed off towards the end. and i came across that book the other day in waterstones, looked interesting (although i preferred the 1000 tattoos next to it!). global knives are the badgers nadgers. my folks got me a 40cm chefs knife for my 18th and i decided then that i would buy a whole set. 2 months ago, they had a set of 5 knives, scissors and a block down from £300 to £160, had to get it!!

@matty - actually i only got one - whit. the other was a book called deadstock which looks like a slightly odd sci-fi (which is incidentally produced by a company called solaris, which is an imprint of black library)
