posted a mini for the first time!

I\'m so proud of myself, I\'ve finally bought a digital camera and posted a mini. It\'s the only one that hasn\'t been a) dipped in acetone in disgust or b) been mauled (too badly...) by the cat.

So, now my question is, how long until I can pull it up? I posted it a few minutes ago, and apparently it\'s waiting for something. My guess would be moderator review?

Yup - it is waiting for a moderator to check the image before it will be made public for us all to see.

Nice looking mini - a good strong and limited colour palette. Nice one.

Best Regards,

Nice pic - she looks like she may be a bit chilly. Nice work on the eyes in particular and excellent photography too.

Good first post  (alcohol free toast for the mum-to-be ;) )

Nice looking chick! as already said: great eyes. Frozy colors on the skin there... what are they? If I may ask.

lets see if this works...

As far as the colors go, I used mainly one shade of blue and white. For the skin, I just added a bit of the blue that I was using for the rest of her. It came out a little greyish, but I was pleased with it.

My review of it (seeing it this close up) would be that the lining could have been a little neater, and I could have done a bit more shading in the little bits of clothing she has on. I am very pleased with her face, and most especially her eyes. You can\'t tell in the pic, but if you look closely at her face, you can see that her upper lip is curled a bit, as though she\'s looking at those below her in disgust. Another reason to make her look so cold.

Excellent first submission, miles better then mine.

What I see: if could use some blacklining. Actually for this mini maybe some darkblue lining. The face as mentioned is excellent, especially the eyes. The sword looks a bit flat and probably could have used being in a contrasting or metallic colour.

Thanks Gilvan. I did do some dark blue lining, but I think I should have been bolder with it. I think I was pretty timid with it. You\'re right about the sword, that could have been a good contrast item. Thanks for the input!

Great scheme, but I agree with what some of the others say.

Getting that first submission on is a big step to improving!!

Way to go.

face & eyes are very nice. If you can nail that part, the rest is cake.

The gems are pretty good too.

The metals could use some more work. I don\'t see that lady with a bunch of tarnished brass, more like shiney gold or silver. Silver might be a good color with her blues.

lol, I think you guys are giving me too much credit for the face! I\'ve been painting my own face for long enough I should do well there!

Thanks again to everybody for all your helpful comments and praise. The constructive criticism is great. I\'m just tickled with anything that doesn\'t start out \"you suck\" lol

doesn\'t everbody suck at one point...

I thought I was pretty good at painting until I stumbled over CMON - and o how I fell in to feeling like a newbie. But now the only way is up for me, one can only get better - I have set a goal for my self: to enter a GD.

@Zap, don\'t feel bad. I fit that very same mold. Not that I am that much better now, but I know what I am striving for.

a good way of breaking up snow etc is to have something poking out.
a rock is the obvious one but perhaps a little flower or something?

any way, excellent start:)

@airhead, don\'t worry about me - not feeling that bad, I know I\'m getting better at it and I know where I\'m going: to the top :D

Spazzy don\'t listen to Generulpoleaxe he thinks his stuff is so good he can goof on people with serperior skills.

Trim that dopey chin hair collection and maybe you will see what your painting.

Generulpoleaxe has a sweet web site though, like serving a MacDonalds on a gold platter.

I prefer to save my money so I have no website & for some reason people still know Quality when they see it.

Cheers queers...

I\'m guessing you two know each other...and I\'m also guessing that the chin hair comment was pointed at Generul. :D

Breaking up the snow a little would probably give the base a little more visual interest. Thanks again!
