posting Eavy metal minis to boost rating???

what the FF? I mean, come on! check this out, this guy has posted the Eavy Metal Archaon as seen at a GW evewnt somewhere, just because it\'s \'cool\'....he didn\'t paint it himself, but he\'s still getting a very high vote on it. Granted, Keith did a decent job on it, but why? i don;t know, i don;t mind poeple posting stuff that\'s \'studio\'(of any company), if they either painted it, or sculpted it, but this is just a punter... Silly....

I agree. I thought this site was for posting minis you painted yourself and finding out what people think of your work. Oh well you get that.
@minigrlll when are you going to do another paintathon. I loved the last one.

This type of thing has come up many times before, at this poster has done the right thing. He makes it perfectly clear it\'s not his work, and credits it to the best of his ability.

Nothing in the rules says you can only post your own work. What he\'s done is probably a violation of GWs copyright, but that\'s their concern.

Anyway, he\'s only got 3 minis posted so it\'s not as if he\'s hurting anyone\'s ranking for it.

True.. eventhough I expected to find it in the rules... it\'s not there (well there is the fact that you can\'t post pictures where you don\'t own the rights to post from.. which I think aplies to this figure... Don\'t think GW sold him the rights ;) ). But posting like this does make a mockery of the whole voting and ranking system. Then instead it could become not the who is the best painter/sculptor but who has the most money to buy the best selection of miniatures to put pictures from on cmon.

True he has only 3 pictures yet so it ain\'t huring anyone... But I wonder what will happen once he posts 5 miniatures like this and at once ranks in the top 300.

Well, first of all he\'d need 50+ votes on all of those entries to jump to the top.

Second, and more important, if he doesn\'t have the right, then I guess the post should be pulled. I\'m a rules lawyer you know ;)

Well he only has 3 minis\' posted and they have way over 50 votes.

I always had you penned as a rules lawyer. :D

There was this asshole named Erik K. a while back who bought someone\'s GD entry in Australia and kept entering it in various contests and getting caught.:D

just recently i found someone posted one of my minis (boris i painted for Heresy) as their own. no comments or anything.
the thing that made me laugh is they just cut andd paste the picture from the site complete with my name on itlol

Heh, mistewr Kelso bought some of my minis ages ago and entered them into an origins comp. suffice to say he is banned from ever entering that, or any golden Demon comp ever again ;)

Hasn\'t anyone noticed that all of this guy\'s submissions are three to three and a half years old and it don\'t look like he\'s an active member any more?

Hands off i seen Victoria\'s gallery first. they are all mine, all mine i tell ye. :D copy and paste *whistles away* surely someone will give me a job now i got the pics to prove it :innocent:

Yep! he did win! lol, all his entries that year at origins were done by other people, apparently he had been doing it for years, scheemy b*st*rd.

Oh, and who cares if the guy with the archaon is listening....I want to RANT! It\'s that time of the month I guess....:D
