Pre heresy space marine armour

hey all, im very interested in doing a bunch of lunar wolf conversions, and i was wondering if anybody ha any info on pre hhh armour. any pics text or whatveer would be greatly appreicted

A good starting point would be the artwork on the covers of the Horus Heresy novels. There is also a Horus Heresy art book. OR... if you can get hold of it... the rule book from the first Epic 40k game, \"Space Marine\" which was set during the Horus Heresy. I gave my copy away a couple of years ago... sigh...

yeah, i got the inspiration from the cover of false gods. i have all the horus heresy, until they started to go down hill. would pre heresy armour have aquilas on the chest plate?

The Horus Heresy art book freakin\' owns. They should still be relatively easy to find for $50. Totally worth it.

I think its £30 at GW, may have gone up since i got mine though

thanks for all the info guys, im planning on using this years uk gd model, as on closer inspection the armour is quite antiquated.any thoughts?

Some of the new veterans are also good. Like the one with the power axe and plasma pistol. The head he\'s got is a heresy age looking one, same with the conic nosed ones. (Or you could go with a bare head that always works.) Remember to file off the eagle on the armor. Dont worry about it on weapons and stuff, just the armor. I think GW does or did have a set of five marines called \"armour through the ages\" or something that had some good examples of heresy age armor. You could check that out if you want, (I don\'t have a link sorry)

Artwork book is amazing. Check out HHCCG Card Builder as well - theres a few pics if you select traitors, pick a card name and then click on \'image\'

Truly inspiring with lots of different artists in, including John Blanche\'s latest paintings of the Primarchs.

It\'s a hardcover compilation of all the other books. Very sexy, I got mine from Amazon. The preorder was discounted to $26.00 where it would have cost about $200 for the books individually when they first printed in softcover. I can\'t complain! Huge book with lots of great art... And some terrible art too sadly. Big project with lots of artists, so some really don\'t compare to the likes of Adrian Smith.

yeah i got them all individually so it cost me a bomb. not as much as finn though as he has the full special ed set all signed!
