Prince Yriel of Iyanden

Hi all, this is what i\'ve been working on lately, i converted prince yriel to have a helm, this was made from a metal guardian head and the terrain part from the dire avengers set and sculpted the deatil on.
I then bent the left arm nd opened up the shimmer sheild and added a closed fist with a dagger.
I then removed all th sculpted detail from the cloak and banner to let the freehand flow! ;)
For colours i kept to the Iyanden yellow and blue but replaced the yellow with NMM gold to make him a bit special.
To finish i made a display base with a yin yan symbol as a step for him.

Hope you like and any comments or questions are welcome!

I could tell you that you spelled it right but I don\'t like to lie. :p

As for the model, yep, it\'s not a bad effort. I want to know how on earth do you paint those straight lines so well (on the cape). I know, practice, practice, practice...

Yet another Darren Latham model enters my Favorites list :D

The NMM on this guy is simply fantasmic. It has the complexity you would expect from such a curvy and complex surface, and the control of angles/shading is perfect.

I love the way the base is so bloody cool and subtle, and you don\'t let it attract all the attention in the photos. I would imagine it\'s one of those things that escapes your notice in person, and then you poop your pants when you look at it from above.

I really like the tiny white dots you add here and there to the NMM areas. It really makes that armor shine! Your work is definitely an inspiration! This is my favorite piece of yours so far. Keep it up! =)

Wow!! I literary dropped my jaw when I saw this one.

You have developed the NMM further and it is great. Especially the kneecaps are amazing. Could be the best NMM I\'ve seen. On some places the reflections are slightly disrupted by edging If you would blend those more from darker to lighter in a similar manner like the other reflections, think a bit more light, they would be perfect.

The rest of the painting is amazing as well, I\'m particulary impressed by the robes with the freehand. The feel very much like cloth. However you could perhaps darken the freehand lines in shadow some more.

All in all amazing work, your effort has well payed off and I wish I had the money to buy this one. 9.4 almost feels underrated.

Whoa...

Um. Yah.

Ya\'ll see the little subtle color variations in the jewel thingies in his crest?

Wow \'n\' stuff.

thanks for the constuct etc, 9.4 is cool but it may be higher if you didn\'t reject my first lot of pics i uploaded and had to shrink them even more so hat they lost the sharpness etc. and i will upload some better ones when i get my credit back which i \'wasted\' on the rejected image. ;)

@neil H-

Hah! 200kb is the max size, mate. Sure we can be lenient sometimes just because of your winning smile and firm buttocks but not for 400kb, mate. Not me anyways. See if you can grease up the other mods... :p External hosting (on imageshack for example) is your friend if you want larger views for auctions. We will grab it from imageshack if it goes down often so don\'t worry about that.

However in photoshop there is no problem getting even the first collage you posted down to about 200kb with decent quality. So if you are at loss what to do PM me or mail me the uncompressed images next time and maybe I can help you out. :)
