Princess Fanny - Friend of Frogs

A sculpting project that took a path towards simple forms, humor, and cuteness.

Designing this little girl has been on the way for a long time. I have drawn the princess many times with my children, and finally have gotten around to creating the model. It is my first experience with resin casting, and - damn - it gives such precise detail.

Painting her I decided for a an overall blue colour scheme. I tried to match the simple forms of the sculpt in the painting. I especially enjoyed painting the face and hair which I had expected to be fun - and it was. Other great moments in the process was painting the frog and the wand.
Anyway here she is - I hope you like her!

Very simple but good mini, nice to see something miles away from shooting and running marines. I really like the frog, cool looking tongue.

Very nice! Had to order it. While I was there I saw the rest of your range of mini's. Not sure why I hadn't caught them before but I look forward to getting my bag of goodies in the mail. Thanks for posting this. I plan on painting up the princess for my daughter and the bad one for my boy.

I certainly do.
And given that my wife's name is Frances (For the love of anything holy never call her that) of which Fanny (& Fran) is a diminutive, I like it even more.
I'm just wondering if I could manage to convert it slightly as she is after all a Broomrider (Yep that makes me the toad).
