problem Paints

When i started my new ork army, i decided not to paint them \"chemical\" green, but to use a more natural brown tone (catachan green to Camo+bleached)..... I kind of regret the choice.

It does look better than standard ork green, but i found that Camo green is horrible to get a smooth finish.

until i tried adding SlowDry, as well as the usual LOTS of water.

has anyone else had similar trouble with these or other paints, if so, did you find a solution ???

please share any information you have.

I haven\'t painted many orcs but Citadel \"Rotting Flesh\" added to green (rotting flesh is a pale green) gives a more realistic tone.

tbh I haven\'t used much catchan green but I don\'t remember it as so problematic for blending, more that it covers poorly. I think Allan C used catachan for his supersmooth Orks as well. Try using a foundation green like Knarloc green for a smooth basecoat and then use the catachan recipe over that.

Second vote for foundation knarloc green, followed by Catachan, followed by Catachan with tiny amount of Squid Pink, followed by (if desired) 2:1 bleached bone/caatachan with tiny amount of squid pink (Pink was added to desaturate green)

the bestest way:
you will need, purple, catachan green, golden yellow, and goblin green.

start off by mixing 1:1 catachan and purple.

then add goblin once you have done that a couple of layers, add yellow for sucsessive highlights!!
