Project: Christmas

Hello everybody.

I need your help. I am going back home for two weeks over Christmas and rather than lug all my half-painted minis down with me, I was thinking of getting something big and complex and making it my sole Christmas painting project. What I need is advice from all you good people on what would be a good piece to get. I\'ve checked out the Forgeworld busts and Showcase pieces but I\'m not sure I like any of them enough, and I don\'t know if I can get the Rackham Dirz bust where I am.

The selection criteria are:

-Must be big.
-Must be sexy.
-Preferably resin.
-Must be available in the UK.

Any ideas? I await your input with trepidation.

Well, if you can live with ordering from outside the UK and you are ok with paying a small fortune, I think this is super cool:

20cm and 200 euro though, so not exactly cheap!

They also have some white metal kits in there range which might be considered sexy

No seriosly, how is the casting? Does it look like a nightmare to put togerher?

it\'s alright, although the model itself is a bit flat and two-dimentional. No airbubbles and not a lot of flash though, and I would guess it\'s actually 30 cm high, the circle around the girl really adds to the height. I bought it as my birthday pressie this year(in march), but unfortunately I\'ve only managed to attach one leg to the base....

Thanks for the replies, people, and the fiery girl is a very real possibility (although I\'d probably paint her purple \'cause I find red a right bugger to do).

Any more suggestions?

So at the moment it\'s Pegaso Fiery Girl vs. Pervy Beret Chick. Add in the Dirz bust by Rackham once I find a way to get one in the UK and we\'ve got a three-way match-up for the Project Christmas honours. Any more suggestions to turn it into a Royal Rumble?

Unfortunately not in the immediate future Michael, as I have a tonne of other stuff to be getting on with right now (see my wolfen in the Game Mart thread if you think I\'ve been idle since Games Day ), but when I do get round to painting him I will of course post pics (though I doubt the image size allowed here will do him justice). I hope to enter him at next years GD UK so obviously if I go ahead with that plan then I can\'t post him here until after the competition, and thats not until next September. So I\'m sorry folks, but you\'ll have to wait a while.

Sorry also if you think I\'m going on about this model, but I\'ve only posted when it\'s come up in conversation (JKean mentioned it first!) :innocent:

Wow, those are a couple of pretty cool sites. I see what you mean about Alayne.

It\'s looking like the Dirz bust will be the winner, though. Not that there wasn\'t any competition, but I might have found somewhere that can get one off Rackham.

As for the Forgeworld dragon - yes, it\'s great big sexy lizard, but it\'s not really my thing.
