It\'s looking good so far! :)

First, I have no idea how Kiril (Yellow one) thought when he did the pattern so my analysis of it might be completely off mark. But hopefully it will help you to simplify it and be able to mimic it better.

When I see the pattern I think electronic circuits and almost like the inner workings of the Nightwing sketched on the outside. It also has an organic approach though as well, which suits well with the feeling of extraterrestial or non-human technology. It has an elegance to it, an estetic beauty not only functionality.

When you do the patterns, it is in different levels. It\'s like a circuit board getting harshly lit by a flashlight. which means a a curled cable that is facing upwards will have the segments brightest and biggest on top and as it goes into the nightwish the light catches the segments less and less

The first pattern is the segmented shapes. A suggestion would to think a bit of electronic wires or cables getting connected and faded in and faded out.

The second pattern is some kind of translucent capsule containing the cables. The capsule itselfs seem to have tiny semitranslucent wires in it which when it becomes larger instead look like a bone structure. The bonestructure is less translucent then the re In the joints, where the \"bones\" or \"wires\" meet, the pattern overlaps each other and and therefor looks like dots of light.

Then there are the faded eldar glyphs and the rest of the ship is basically painted with edging technique. Lines around plates, brighter on the corners. Use the side of the brush at all times, and wipe off the excess paint of the brush on a piece of cloth or your thumb. The gems are painted like they usually are but with two reflecting points directly above each other. The NMM is awesome.. :) You can try to analyse how he does it by looking at the pictures, but the keyword is contrast. For a gaming army you can use regular metallic paint as well. Those are also easily tinted with the greens and blues that are necessary for a coherent colourscheme

If I\'d do the colours I would do it with black, grey and white first. And then use glazes of very diluted paint to tint the surfaces a bit. He\'s used blue and greens it looks. Hard to say which exact shades, especially since it depends much on photos as well. But you can experiment with colours (GW) like regal blue, hawk turquoise, scaly green, dark angels green and snot green in different mixes.

First sketch the patterns in a colour close to black so you can fix the mistakes easily and then when you\'ve done. fill them in and gradually build up the pattern by mixing brighter greys. Save white for the brightest spots, where the pattern is most intricate.

Hope anything helps!

Now, get painting and show us some wips! :p

And the obvius 10000$ question is how did he do it? :) What other things do you need to buy except brush and paint? :p

But honestly don\'t brush of advices you get like this, makes the time spent helping you feel wasted. Even if there is a specific way that Kiril used to produce this exact result there are always several ways of producing a similar result. Or another cool result whatsoever. No one does things exactly the same so consider the advices you get anyway.

cool.
but the figure looks a bit too stripy. so i think you should only do it on some bits of the model and keep the others black and then hilight i, or you could do the free had then do some differant free had maby in dark red.
but in some parts it looks really cool.

I love your idea, can I make one possible suggestion that may help, or may not. I understand the look you want on the guardians and they look great not but I feel the 3dimensional look you want might be improved if you were to get a small wood engraveing tool. I\'d carefully carve tiny ridges out of the shoulder pads before you painted them that way. I know it would help you get a better effect. Otherwise they are fantastic. I will be watching for sure. ;)

I think doing this sort of thing on the troopers isn\'t gonna look too good when they\'re all together, the effect will be lost, I\'d save it for the vehicles or maybe the individual characters.
Nice project though.
