Proxxon Tools

Does anyone have any experience with Proxxon tools?

How do they compare to Dremels? Are they suitable for drilling as well as sanding / cutting / milling? I mainly ask since Dremel are available in Japan but much more expensive than Proxxons (for some reason).

I read that a power drill would be more suitable for say, drilling barrels from long gunners (Privateer Press Cygnar Unit), and would need around 20-50RPM?

I have never used the Proxxon tools, but i bought a really cheap dremmel like tool from my local hardware store for £10 about $20, it works fine for me as it is plugged into the mains,

their hot wire cutters and other \"mini tools\" such as band saws and fret saws are all excellent, rugged and reliable. Never used their hand-held mini-drill but Proxxon do a have a good reputation.

I got hold of one this weekend - does a a great job for cleaning and cutting. I like the look of their hot wire cutter too - looks great if you\'re into terrain building!

Hi, Saw your thread today, I\'ve never used a Dremmel, but I got a Proxxon at christmas and I\'m chuffed to bits with it, drilling, sanding, you name it.

Worked with my Proxxon for years and am very happy with it. These tools are from a German company that specialises in tools for scale modelling. It\'s not a \"cheap tool\" company if you had that impression. The quality is very high. I\'m also using mine as a lathe since the shaft bearing set-up is stable enough to hold that.

i guess i am a bit excessive... i just use my power drill from black and decker. its orange clunky and works wonders.

i just use bits from dremel cause i am too cheap to buy one, since i already had a power drill.
