well, the 600$ model does have like 50 gigs? and integrated WiFi plus Blu Ray -- how much is the Wii supposed to cost?

Another thing I had heard is that the current crop of games are really not much better than what exists on the XBOX 360...Programmers haven\'t really pushed what it can do it. I would think the 3rd generation of games will be killer though....Just another reason to wait.
Vikey xbox 360 half priced unless you go for the upgraded one for $100 which im told by the local game store is the better deal memory wise,online,etc. sure is tempting and ..Gears of war sure looks amazing..cant say I have seen much in the way of Nintendo Wii aside the nutty looking nunchuku style controller..might be fun though.Im sure anyone with kids would groove on it..with the one game where youre sword fighting with the controller..((im sure most of us have see the commercials))..sure is annoying just debating what to buy lol

I don\'t care if its 400K or 40 Million..I know one guy who won\'t be buying one..ME! Ive never felt the draw to video games..never owned one nore played one.
But 400K units won\'t last the week. What I do hope is all the speculators who buy them hoping to cash in loose their collective @ss\'s :twisted:

Jeff..wow..never owned nor played a video game..I dont know how to respond to that..thats just soo wrong..like never owning a bike as a kid..we might have to take up a collection and get you in the know ..but heres a sampling of the ps3 situation distribution here..10 for the local Walmart...and ebay bundles are going for over $1500..how nuts is that..
Vikey yes the commercial for gears of war is very cool..the haunting music is awesome.. didnt know that was REM..you see the guy running thru the rain down a street then suddenly sees some enemy and dives in the window as the explosion goes off...he looks up from where he landed then the best part..you see something in the darkness.glowing..and finally it materlizes..and jesus christ what a monster of a mechanical arachnid...like 6 stories tall!..the guy looks wide eyed and starts blazing as it starts to pounce on him..its one of the coolest video promos I can think of.

why on gods name would someone pay $6000 or even $2000 for a PS3 with that sort of money you could buy a PC that plays games which make the PS3 looks like a NES.
I may buy a chipped 360 to play copies but won\'t be forking out stupid prices for games.
I\'ll stick with my PC plays as good if not better than a PS3 or 360 now, and it\'s being upgraded next year.

The wii is £180 for the basic package.
I have a mate who is trying to convince me to chip mine, but I really don\'t think it is worth it.
For one, there are very few games worth getting yet, so just be selective. £30something quid off amazon for a game like Oblivion isn\'t exactly a lot of cash per hour of gameplay you\'ll get anyway. I don\'t need to be collecting cack games just because I can.
More importantly, it is so unreliable. He has to leave his system for 10 minutes to an hour between swapping games before they work, it occasionally causes him problems online, and whenever Microsoft update their live service he is left screwed until someone works a way around it.
It\'s just a huge faff really. It seems to be a great way to screw up your rather expensive console. The only bonus is playing MAME or other emulators through the 360, but I can do that with my laptop anyway, and link up my console pad to that if I want to use it too.
