Hi!
I\'m currently in the process of painting a Chaos Space Marine army, but decided - after some inspirational compliments from my girlfriend and one of her friends - to paint a single model just to see if I\'m still up to scratch.
As a coincidence, I had this beauty cleaned, primed and stuck to a piece of cork lying in a drawer, so I figured I\'d paint him!

The pics might be a tad out of focus, and somewhat dark.

I begun last night, and finished the purple cloakthingy and the eyes the same night. Today, I\'ve painted the corroded brass, and his skin.

This is actually going really quickly, and I still think I\'m getting appreciateable results.

I\'d much like comments on this piece, and also some help to decide what colour to paint his collarthingy and the random wires he\'s got. I\'ve already got some ideas, but if you\'ve got anything better I\'ll naturally going with them instead!

So... While you comment, I\'ll start building his base.

I think you definetly should do a single of this mini! it looks great btw! I love the face!

but I think you shouldn\'t let the robes down, I hope you\'re not finnihsed with them, \'cos I think they could need more depth and more blending, otherwise it looks GREAT!

Thanks for the nice comments, Roger and Larre!
I was actually thinking about doing some more work on the robes after seeing how well the face turned out. I\'ll keep on adding shading and highlights and glazes until I feel the quality matches the skin! ^^
I\'m also pretty fond of the corroded brass. It turned out pretty nice considering it was my first attempt ever.

Btw, Larre, what do you mean by \"I think you definetly should do a single of this mini\"? I\'m not reallly... getting it. :redface:

True, true! Well, in this case, it was pretty easy as this sculpt is big.
But the first tip I can give you is to paint the eyes before the rest of the skin. Fill out the eyes with white and retouch with black or a dark skin colour. Then paint the pupils, which is pretty easy as you don\'t have to dot them in, just simply paint downwards as it won\'t matter if you get black over or under the eye! ^^ Then some more retouched with the white and black until they match.

Oh Gods, you\'re younger than me and already a better painter... I feel lazy now! ^^ I\'m 17 btw, 18 in January!

And also, concerning the progress of the model, I\'ve added some more shading and highlights to the purple, but I still have a lot more highlight stages to go through.
After that I will go ahead and paint the collarthingy (I think it will be black of some sorts, the model looks good in its current scheme and I don\'t feel light lighting it up more) and details.

The base is also built, I will undercoat and paint it when the model\'s done.

Hell, I\'m a swede to, but further to the south than you and Larre (stockholm woo!) and I will turn 18 2008 aswell But in September.

umm... correct me if I\'m wrong... but isn\'t Stockholm north-west of Gotland?
