That's how one can tell a comic artist who can draw from one who can't, and just uses a goofy style as a crutch. For example, the "Calvin & Hobbes" strips where Watterson spoofed the "Rex Morgan MD" style "realistic" comics or drew dinosaurs. As much as Scott Kurtz sometimes annoys me, the man _can_ draw.

Watterson is one of my favorite comic strip artists. The content was always excellent, but I've always been a fan of his art.

Gary Larsen definately qualifies for that goofy style as a crutch, but could you imagine The Far Side being drawn as anything else?

And, yeah, Krutz can def. draw....
