A very friendly Steppe eagle called Ralf. And it was damn cold that day. Heres another one :

yup its an aquila all right! thats awsome ive never gotten that close to an aquila! actual ive never seen an aquila in person largest bird ive held was a red tailed hawk but those are pretty big too!

I worked one summer at the Colorado Renaissance Fair. One of the nearby booths was rented out by Birds of Prey Foundation. It was awesome. Beautiful women in somewhat revealing outfits walking around with enormous predatory birds on their arms.
Great way to raise money!
