Having been to both coasts, I\'ll stick to the \"flyover states\" thank you very much.

Lower taxes for one thing.

you west coasters are blasphemers!!!!! Nothin\' like the East Coast. You get a variety of different landscapes on the east coast and a variety of temperatures. Beach and desert get boring after a while. I know I lived in the desert for 4 years.

No GD LA, GD Bal\'mer is the place to be. Come hang out with me, eat some crab and lobster, have some good grog, visit the aquarium . . . Bal\'mer is the place to be!

I\'m with Meg on this, I favour the east coast. Cali doesn\'t have Maryland Blue crab for a start lol
And I did like the aquarium...And the grog...I can see a theme here.

*sigh* decisions decisions

Uhmmm. Stupid question, but whats up with the car? Is it red or orange? Or does the sun do weird things to the color of things Down Under? You know like the toilets flushing the wrong way...:D

It\'s got that Hot Wheels paint on it that changes color under temperature.

@Liz - I was looking for you and some other peeps at GDLA \'07, but only ran into Evilbones (think his CMON handle is Evilbones anyway). Hopefully in \'08!! If anyone can make it to OrcCon on Friday for the Pacific Marauders painting class, I\'ll hopefully see you there. OC is pricey, but I luvzes it. Besides, I was born and raised here and don\'t know what any other cost of living is like. : )

@Fieldarchy - We have different terrain types. Western South America is the only other place I know that you can surf in the morning and ski in the afternoon. We have a few swampy bits here and there. All kinds of different basing inspiration. : ) And we have high and low desert which are notably different terrains too. So there!! : )~

@TBS - We have Maryland Blue Crab. We have every type of food known to man kind. : ) We have the authentic places and for most types, a fast-food version as well. Sushi Boy FTW!!!!!! Sometimes, the fast-food places are actually more authentic than the sitdown places. /shrug

Thanks for tolerating me being defensive. : ) Please take this with a grain of salt. I\'ve never been further west than Vegas and know there are several flaws with my area and that there are some amazing places around the planet. But we do have a little bit of everything here. Sushi with imported English beer (Samuel Smiths taddy Porter FTW!!), and finish off with an Egyptian desert. MMMMMMMMMMM : ) I know NYC is similar, but it\'s a dirty pit. Probably the only place I am less fond of than LA. : ) (sometimes it\'s fun being highly biased hehehe)

Weeeeeest Cooooooast!!!!! W

Dude theres a BIG difference eating crab on the east coast. It\'s being there ya know? I have fond memories of crabbing and wrestling with the little (BIG) bastards lol I havn\'t been west, I admit it, but I do love the east! Maaaan now I want thick creamy crab soup... Oh hell give me ANY seafood I LOVE IT! ...But sushi, mmm...ARGH now i\'m starving!

@TBS - I have to agree with you. Having Alaskan crab that\'s only like 6 hours old is amazing (and expeeeeeeensive, yea for not paying). Or river/lake trout you caught 30 minutes ago. : ) I would like to get out east to try some clam chowder. mmmmm If you do ever get out to SoCal, try out a sushi chain called Sushi Boy. It\'s one of the odd fast-food type places that\'s better than 90% of the sushi restaurants I\'ve been to. the one in Irvine is my favorite. Try the \"Salmon Lovers Plate\" mmmmmmmm : ) Seafood FTW!!!!!!

I can relate to Squig now.. :(

My guinea pig suddenly fell and started to scramble, so I held him for half hour and he had a seizure. He woke up in time and my dad came (my dad always was closest to him..) and held him until he died. Sniffers was five, just thought I\'d say in here because I don\'t think frenchkid would like a full thread on it..

Ya\'ll also have no clue about Mexican food and use blue corn tortillas. lol

Having been to both NYC and LA, all I can say is I never thought I would see anywhere that would make Houston look like a welcoming site.
