PYP: Post your Picture

(laughing)

One kid is a life change.

Two kids are interesting but nothing too bad.

Three kids just turns the world upside down and sets it on fire just for the fun of it.

:p

Seriously though, I\'m a happy man most of the time, though having your hands full with three children, all with distinct personalities and preferences makes for some \'frustrating\' times every once in awhile.

Lets see, the oldest is extremely intelligent, speaks two languages and can fluently do American Sign language. Add on top of that she has a photographic memory and it makes for a child that needs to be entertained and you certainly don\'t make promises that you don\'t plan on keeping or remembering - she\'ll quote you word for word. Very loving child - but now shes starting to \'spread her wings\' a bit and asking for some of her own space now that she\'s ten years old.

The middle child is my special hard case (shaking head but still smiling). VERY artistic. Sings, dances ... sings ... sings ... sings (wishing sometimes she wouldn\'t belt out in a place to just hear the echoes) and she draws constantly. She does things \'her\' way and no one, not even mom or dad are going to tell her otherwise. Gets her in trouble a lot, but she is cute though that has rubbed off a bit so now we\'re back to the discipline. It works as long as she\'s in our sight and the second she\'s out ... gloves are off. She\'s six years old.

Then my last little monkey - he\'s four years old, curious as all get out, wants attention, and seems to be following in his oldest sisters steps and has gotten the smart gene though he tends to develop it in more dangerous and devious ways and I fully expect that he\'ll grow up and keep me on my toes and that I\'ll have a full time job of keeping him out of trouble. He\'s a scrapper, loves to fight, wrestle and put the smack down on me and anyone else he can get his hands on, usually in tactic ambushes. The dog has suffered at his hands to say the least.

Now, toss all three of them together, with a tired mother and a dragged down father, all three asking for something different, or they\'ve got to have the EXACT thing the others have or one moment they are all love and kisses and the next they are tearing the hair out of each other trying to see who draws blood first. They all want to eat something different, or go somewhere else, or borrow their siblings stuff without asking or ....

... the list goes on. Love the boogers ... but sometimes I have to put my hands in my pockets and just walk the other way so that I don\'t pull a Hommer and strangle Bart.

I did mention I loved them right?

Usually ....

:D

Utterly hilarious overview of the family life, FF! lol I\'m certain my parents would give a similar description of how it was raising my siblings and I. Truly a beautiful family you have - I look forward to one day having my own (even after all the \"horror stories\", yes). I have a ten-year-old sister who reminds me of your daughters - very independent, and far too smart for her own good!

On a side note, it\'s good to see this topic\'s still alive - always fascinating to see just who we\'re dealing with. It definitely adds a more personal sense to the community.

I can understand what FF\'s going though, if only because of what my parenst must have felt. I mean, after all, there must have been a reason for them to try to poison me, to drown me, to lose me (twice) in an airport, and to clobber me to death, right ?

I have examples to support all of this. And the worst thing is we laugh about it :D.

I am the firstborn of 5 boys... so including my dad, my mum has 6 boys to deal with ;)

most of us are \'technically\' adults too... but we are all still just kids at heart!

Its great having 4 younger brothers - i wouldnt change it for the world! No matter how much i complain about them ;)

thanks FF for bringing this thread back! i loved this one! cute kids too, i think i relate to the middle one. just alittle. ok, alot. she must be adorable ;) anyway. i am the oldest of 2 and love my brother uber much.

basically how it goes down is, Stefen (my brother) can do any sport at all, just have to show him how to do it, plays drums quite well and is smart.

all i got was the singing and acting, smart bit.

not fair at all

but ANYWAY.

Hey FF! (I DARE anybody to understand what voice I\'m using in my head to say that...<G>)

I understand completely. Father of 2 1/2 kids (LONG story), none of them biologically mine.:eek:

I\'ll give you insight into the 2 that live with us: the oldest knows fluent ASL also, being that she\'s deaf.;) She\'s smart as a whip and doesn\'t have a mean bone in her body. Just turned 13, and finally developed the \"teen\" gene, so attitude galore. Unfortunately, due to her disability and the environment she grew up in, she doesn\'t have a ton of \"common sense\", which I like to think I have in abundance. So we often get into huge arguments over the stupidest things.

The youngest is 4 1/2 years old, he\'s a spitfire who\'s got the energy of 3 kids his age. He just discovered video games in earnest and is glued to a controller until Dad has to come in and tickle him off of it.
He\'s smart also, but STUBBORN! Got that from his mom, that\'s for sure.:D

So yes, I can understand where you\'re coming from. Especially when the middle child comes over for a visit and the whole house gets thrown into uber chaos!

@ wyrmling_x
Thanks, the little ones keep me hoppin\' and my temper flaring but I smile more than not at their antics.

@ Mosch
Doesn\'t it though? Maybe I should redo my signature to one with Homer strangling Bart. :D

@Tuubje
(laughing) Have one first and then figure it out - they are EXPENSIVE. Me and the wife started early, age 19 (well, she was a girlfriend then) but things have worked out. I wanted one, she wanted five .... after the last one at 10lbs 3ozs. without any pain meds she decided she was done (heh).

@ipaintminis
My pleasure, and thanks for the compliments on the chittlin\'s cuteness (is that even a real word ...)

@supervike
Heh, two kids were just a bit more of a juggle but having gone through it once its not too bad ... least for us, this way everyone had a shoulder or lap to sit in. That\'s damn aggrivating with three of them ... I had to start working out when all three wanted me to carry them (one wrapped around my neck like a scarf and the other two clinging to me like demented monkeys).

As for the doppelganger .... perhaps - been up that way a few times in the last couple of years to see a bud or two though its been some time since the last. Certainly didn\'t drag the kiddoes with me though.

@Zora
Heh, sounds like you\'ve got your hands full as well.

As for the ASL around here, its something my wife wanted to teach but never did and then she started teaching my children - when they want to keep something away from me they either switch over to ASL or start speaking spanish so either way I\'m screwed.

As for video games .... oh lord. The oldest and youngest are addicts on it as we\'ve got gameboys, gamecubes, x-boxes and so forth all over this house. Of course the more blood and gore the more they want to play it (grrrr). Oddly enough the middle child could care less about them.

you have to get it hosted somwhere on the net. Try photobucket.com. And then just put the link after clicking on the little picture icon.

You won\'t be able to do it directly from a pic in your PC. Load it onto a web page first.

Try www.photobucket.com for free hosting. Highly recommended.
