If anyone can get ahold of the audio tape \"The Immigrants: the Redneck\" it is hilarious.
There used to be a show about how various ethnic groups migrated to the United States, calle \"the immigrants.\"
Someone (Harvard Lampoon or National Lampoon, I can\'t remember which) made a spoof of it about rednecks leaving Europe to make new lives in America.
It had great lines like:
\"I don\'t like it here in Switzerland; the cheese got holes in it\"
and
\"I can\'t wait to get to America so\'s I can buy a car and put it on blocks in my front yard.\"
-all done in a rural Southern accent of course.
I know my brother has a tape so I\'ll see if I can hunt down a version on the web somewhere.

I didn\'t think anyone but me remember that one. It was on National Lampoon\'s Radio hour, I had the album for years but left it in my garage when I moved (thought I didn\'t need them no mo\'). It had such gems as \"I\'m from the Urals, out \'a Russia ways\" \"THE URALS! I git kin up thar!\". The whole segment ended with \"Next week on The Immigrants: Albinoes, the pale, pink-eyed people\". There were a lot of really good songs on that album too, like \"well intentioned blues\" and \"Colorado\'s calling me\". The one line I remeber from the Colorado song was -
The baby didn\'t die
\'till we burned up all our wood...
Considering we ate her raw
she tasted pretty good...
I\'ve been checking for a few years now, it hasn\'t come out on CD unfortunately, and I couldn\'t find it with Kazaa...

Hey Wolfie, how come you don\'t paint any WWII historic? I just perused your gallery, and all you do is Scifi/Space marines. With your knowledge of said period you could probably do a bang-up job. Try checking out Rev\'s gallery for some very realistic WWII stuff.

no offence but ive seen some of his mins and yeh... i uno dont like... em... btw rev.. .the... \"semi atuo (?)\" is fully automatic STG-44 also the \"WWII German bipod gunner\" is a MG-42 gunner (fun to shoot on the range) and normaly they would be in a prone position unless assultying by running and shooting while holding the gun by 1 of the bipod legs.... also the german MGs are painted black

His was just one example that I happened to be familiar with off hand. There are plenty more well painted WWII, as well as other period, models here on CMON, and I don\'t think they get the attention they desrve. It\'s a shame, because I think achieving realism on a fantasy piece is a lot easier then trying to re-produce something from the RW. Some of the Roman and Old west stuff is incredible.
