Q on speed painting Crimson Fist Marines

We had a local 40k gamer have his entire 40k army stolen while out on deployment (U.S. Navy). Me and several others have pooled together our money and resources to rebuild his Space Marine force. As a bonus, I've offered to paint his army for free (his stolen army was only spray painted blue).

I tend to take a longer time painting, but want to get these up and running quickly. Both for him and so I can finish my own Eldar.

My first inclination was to spray black, dry brush dark blue then dry brush up a few highlights.
But I was also thinking of spraying Army Painter Navy Blue, then wash with Dark Tone shade (perhaps 2+ shade washes).

Anyway, I thought I would ask the wise peeps at CMON for some advice.

To me this sounds like the fastest route.

Your best bet is probably to make up a small container's worth of your wash colour (magic wash) and dip them after priming, this'll really speed the process along. Can always throw in a bit of drybrushing on top of this if you want to.

these were done with army painter Navy and the Dark tone no highlighting as yet. did a squad of 5 in about 2-3 hrs

Perfect! thanks for the pics. That will most certainly do. My worry was that the blue would be too light, but that looks great.
He actually has his own chapter based on the Crimson Fists, so the exact color is not required.
