I am a kiwi, and all of my immediate family is fine thankfully, though obviously being a small country we know plenty of people affected. Hopefully the recovery progresses as well as possible for them.

Our former Manager took severance and was returning to New Zealand (his birthplace) and was due to arrive on the day the quake hit.
Same situation about an ex colleague taking a work break before going back to Uni.
Both She and our exmanager were travelling on the same flight.
As yet we haven't heard anything.
Fingers are crossed however.
