Here are my latest. The Basti\'s were especially fun to do.

You\'ll hate me for saying it, but the Bastis look awfully flat. I\'m assuming that\'s a camera thing since you did so well with them at Gencon. I really like the Sophie Tropy, tho - a really neat idea! Also, is it me or are Cersei\'s ladies-in-waiting giving her really evil looks? lol

Very nice work all round! Some closer photos would be nice. Even if you say the camera flattens it out I suspect that some parts of your minis can use a bit more contrast. Perhaps more of defining shadows then highlights really.

@Amazon Warrior Hm, the Basti\'s don\'t look flat on my monitor. Yes Cersei\'s ladies in waiting do have unhappy expressions. Wouldn\'t you if you were watching someone preen in the mirror for hours on end? ;)

@Avelorn My camera terminally died at GenCon so these pics are with a borrowed camera. While I\'m not the best photographer I think most of these came out reasonably well. I do agree that some (like sophie especially because of her scale and the time limit painting her) could use with some more shadows. The borrowed camera had a tendency to wash everything out which is why there is no back shot of Sophie here or on my website. I just couldn\'t get one even remotely viewable.

That said I also like to paint for what I see in hand and not what the camera will pick up. I got the chance to see some minis at GenCon that look killer in photos but in hand are so dark in coloring that they looked like completely different miniatures and were disappointing to view. Photography is something I will definitely work on when I replace my camera and I will redo these close for the website with some closer shots.

Sounds like the flatness might be a photo/monitor thing then. I\'m sure they\'re lovely IRL! I paint for \"in the hand\" looks too, so I understand what you\'re saying. You do it a lot better than me though! lol
