Question about chaos

Hey guys, my local GW is going out of buisness so they were having a 25% of everthing in the store sale. I bought a chaos battalion and a unit of marauder horsemen to supplement my slaanesh BOC army, the only problem is I don\'t have the army book. Any suggestions as to what to give everything? (marauders, chaos warriors, chaos knights, and marauder horsemen) cause I really want to get them finished!

Couple things....

BoC, demons and mortals are no longer compatible. Each is a stand alone force now.

Marauders - I like sword shield and light armor. 4+ HtH save is about the minimum you need for any kind of survivability. With their Ws they might live to kill a model or two as well.

Chaos Warriors- I really like the beefed up save of HW and shield on these guys. The mass amount of attacks sounds good on paper but you\'ll want the armor boost to take charges from the other guys.

Knights - The option for Lances is just there to rope in the occasional retard. You pay 5 points for 1 extra strength on the charge and you lose some of the other benefits they get force fed with the hand weapon option.

Marauder Horsemen - Whatever floats your boat. Spears/flails if you want them as a flanking force for flank charges or killing war machines etc. or bare assed if you want them to serve as a screen to flee from charges and pull the other guys out of position.

I think the Chaos Army stink to high heaven. \'Course like you I couldn\'t say no to the models and I should start on my army very soon. Good luck, pick up the book you cheapskate!

What he said apart from two things.

First; don\'t give your marauder horsemen flails, stick with spears. That way you can claim them as both thrusting and throwing spears and get a two for one representation on the model (arming them with both is also a killer combination rules-wise too).

Second; Chaos armies are a hell of a lot better than last time round. Only Nurgle armies stink and that\'s for an entirely different reason lol

Ok. Sucks, that they aren\'t compatible any more, but who can say no to a battalion for $67.50? Thanks for the advice.

To be honest Beasts aren\'t all that good with the latest ruleset. A couple of things mess them up a bit most notably the increase in what constitutes a rank.

Many of the bigger beasties like trolls, ogres, Shaggoths, giants etc. are available to Warriors armies now so you may find you can get a reasonable force out of what you already have.
