Question on Chainsaw use

I just played a game where the chainsaw was drawn and used and had a question. The way we handled it was when rolling the five dice each dice 5 and up killed how ever many zombies in that particular zone. this allowed us to mow down a large number of zombies in one area without having to worry about dying. Is this correct or is it only used to kill one specific zombie no matter how many dice land on five or higher?

When you use a weapon with multiple dice, each die that is the required accuracy or higher (5 in the case of chainsaw) is a hit, and can deal the weapon's damage. So if you use a chainsaw and roll a 3, a 5, and 3 6s then you just got 4 hits of 2 damage each that you can distribute individually to targets in the zone, since it is a melee weapon (if it were a ranged weapon you'd still be hitting more than once, just that you'd be following the ranged priority rules rather than choosing targets at will). So yes, if I understood your wording then yes you were using it right.

same with wielding duel weapons (pistols, uzi, sub machine gun, machetes, axes, etc)
Roll the dice damage and every roll that matches or excedes the accuracy is a hit on a zed head.

Well, that might not be right. Each die 5 and up deals 2 damages. As an example, it kills two walkers.

Well, no. Two damage does not kill 2 walkers. 2 damage is able to kill one walker, or one fatty, or one runner. 1 damage can not kill fatties. So 1 hit, regardless of damage amount = 1 dead zombie that can be killed by that much damage or less. The abomination, for note, cannot be killed by any weapon other than a molotov, or a machete in the hands of El Cholo who is in the red danger zone and has taken his +1 damage with machetes perk.

Technically Abominations can also be killed by Eagle Chaz using a Fire Axe, Chainsaw, or Machete at the Red level, assuming he takes the +1 damage with melee skill. (Yes yes, I know he isn't out yet, but his character sheet is. And since his sheet is released, you can always just print it out and use another mini as proxy.)
