Question on how to finish up SM commander

Here is the commander so far

Anyways, I was wondering if the blending on his arm looks ok? And how would you paint the ropes that go across his chest. I currently have them painted as a scab red with black lining and highlighting blood red, but it doesn\'t look that good. Would it be better to color the whole rope scab red without black lining?

I would go higher with the highlights and smooth out the blends a bit more but if its just for gaming then its fine. I think youve gone a bit hard with the black lining. maybe back it off a bit by mixing the dark red with black instead of just straight black. Looking good so far tho.
