Hi,
Can anyone recommend a source for reasonably priced display bases for 28mm figures? I need 32 bases for a chess set that I\'m creating and need round and rectangular display bases in wood or MDF. Since I need 32 I don\'t want the expensive stuff!
Many thanks,
Gerry

Hi Gerry

firstly: where are you?

second: Can you be a bit more specific on dimensions, height, width, depth.
If you are in the UK, I\'ve got the tools to knock out the basic shape if you don\'t mind doing the clean up. Cost for the timber shouldn\'t be that great

Thanks for the very kind offer Mick. Most generous of you. Unfortunately, I\'m in the USA, so postage for wood would be very expensive.

The kind of thing I\'m looking for are bases like the Andrea Miniatures bases PR-01 and PP-01. The are about 30mm at the top, about 20mm tall with decorative molding at the base. For the major pieces I\'m looking for about 40mm to 50mm in height.

The Andrea would be ideal if it weren\'t for the fact that they are pretty expensive each.

Someone suggested to me that Prince August might make something, but I can\'t find anything on their website.

I thought that perhaps some company might make something molded (and cheap!)

Does it have to be wood?

Would resin work?

First off what do you consider cheap? What are you looking to pay per base?

I make a range of cast resin plinths but they are all round..

LOL Lloyd beat me to my own site..

Thanks guys.
Resin might work just as well. I\'ll take a look at these and see how they might work with the board.

Gerry
