The eyes look decent, I\'d do another highlight. So it looks like it\'s lighter and shining outwards as apposed to all being the same value. Either just brighten up the middle of the eyes, maybe that dark line in the center, the edges, or the outline of the eyes, however you want it to look.
I\'d at least do a black ink wash over the gun to tone it down.

anyways, the picture i think missed my highlights a bit so ill just clarify(might be what you meant)
theres fiery orange, golden yellow, then some white to brighten the glow, and i wet blended the colours(not the white) so its a pretty smooth transition(i did tweak it a bit the left eye looked too white)
and the gun is left over from the paint job my friend did before i bought them...its going to be much better
im thinking of brazen brass, shining gold and boltgun metal, i want to dull down its shininess and didnt really want to attempt NMM on them, i think it would look weird

I like the eyes, really a nice start to the figure repaint. I agree with the last person they need a little tweek. I\'m not a fan of gold guns but it is Sci-Fi so anything goes. Your repaint with brazen Brass sounds interesting. Ink would help it. Black with shades of Purple and grey would be my suggestion. Are the wings actually on this guys head or just in the picture from where you laid him?
***i think the tweak i just did helped them out, ill take another picture when im done, hopefully i can find a nice spot to take a picture(real poor lighting here for pics)
the gold was a theme throughout the models, i was actually going to do them a lot like my friend, but it turns out my wet blending looks a bit better
i think i can achieve what im looking for with the gun, i dont have any black ink although the store is next door never thought about purple, i actually have a purple ink downstairs...hmmm, ill see what it looks like
and no hahah the wings were just there to try and bring out the eyes a bit more than my wood background

For the eyes to really light up what you need to do is paint them white. Then working in a sort of bullseye fashon do the edge in yellow, than surround that with orange yellow, surround that with orange etc.....Leave most of the eyeball itself white though, and dont have any darkcolors in the eye. Post WIP\'s as you go. I like the golden gun. It could use to be smoother though. Looks kinda lumpy now.
***the eyes are white, and ive added a bit to the outside, my camera however hates the lighting here, and has a hard time with the red i think....or maybe my camera just isnt that good for this stuff, i donno
heres a newer shot, with the finished model-gun, as mentioned the gun was being re-done by me(the last version was my friends)

you can see it more in the above photo how i highlighted the gun, the purple ink idea was awesome, i love how it turned out!
im still unsure on the eyes, i like them but i think i need more white around them, aw well practice will pay off eventually

Ive wet blended up to blood red, as mentioned my lighting is poor, and my camera cant seem to distinguish the shades of red very well
the front of his legs are a bit darker though(i got lazy) i was going to highlight up to orange but i thought that would steal from the eyes glowingness would it not?
also doing all those gems was a HUGE pain...its like Eldar are born with gems, and they add one for each yr of life or somethign(so by mid life crisis they are just a body covered in 150 gems!)
theres 52 gems on this lone model...oh my gawwwwwd.....
and i have 4 more to do...thanks, ill wait for the highlighting question above before i continue(the orange one)

Red is always a bitch to photograph.
Eyes look very good, the rest needs work, especially the pants with the dark, blobby shading.

The eyes do look better in the second shot you posted.
***the red looks 100times better, smoother and you can notice it more, by the rest are you including the gun, and gems?
and yes i agree the pants suck...i didnt like them, when i do the next guy ill do them much better(and hope my paint doesnt blotch up this time around ARG!)
i dont really know what else other than the pants looks off, the gun has about 3 highlights, the gems have 3, the armour has about three because of the wet blend

Oh and thanks Shawn, i thought they would, only minor things, but i think i still need just a bit more to make them stand out...and a good photo would help you guys more!

One thing that could help is to reposition your lights when photographing. It looks like they are straight behind you. I have had good luck with two lightsources, one on each side at about 4 and 8 oclock and you at 6 facing 12. Having two lightsources can eliminate some of the shadows and give a truer sense of the colors.

Hi Starks. In my opinion if your going to be making a good job of your mini and spending a long time on it i would start afresh with a new one. repainting minis suck and it kinda feels like flogging a dead horse. Things come back to haunt you from previous layers and lumps. You would see and feel the difference with a brand new mini. eyes look good though.

***i would strip them down but it just takes too long, im using these guys more for tabletop(since i STILL dont have an army painted) and when the newer Eldar come out i should have improved skilll and then i could paint up my golden daemon winner lol

this model here is for my Angels of Redemption, i had originally considered him done, but now ive decided to add more highlights and not be lazy

1. re-do the parts that look thick, originally i didnt think they did, now i do(shield arm)
2. add another brighter highlight to the robe, right now its hard to see it unless you look close enough
3. wet blend all the beige so it doesnt look that bad and give it more depth
4. wet blen the blues, add brighter highlights like i originally planned but never did
5. kill either the blue or the red on the sword hilt, it looks awful
6. paint the scroll differently
i know its a side shot, but if you can think of anything else i should fix and how to do it please mention it

does it look like im trying to do too many folds? or does it look like a good amount?

ok so yes i know i bounce around a lot before finishing things, but oh well
anyways heres another conversion im trying to accomplish---
now my problem is what would i do? do i cut out two plastic hands and try and figure out that way? do i cut out one so i have a way to attach the hammer to the body and then greestuff the rest?
also i plan on filling in the in between section(each side of the centre handle) on the hammer to make it look bigger and also i couldnt quite clean that area out very well
any suggestions? thanks!
