questions before loading my first pix

Hello, this will be my first mini loaded here, and I was wondering what the etiquette was for loading pix. I have many that have been cropped to less than 600 pixels wide. What is a good number for starters? should I try to make the vertical panorama or list them in order? If I am really way off on size, Way too big or too small, can I remove them or just add to them? I probably have a 64.53% chance of doing something stupid and I was looking for help in improving, I mean reducing that number.

vertical panorama go down quite well (pardon the pun). Multiple posts of the same mini occasionally get critism and definitely will receive different scores.
There are artcles on picture taking/resizing in the articles section......sometime I guess I should read them.:D

Welcome to the house of CMON LavronYor!

I think the maximum width is 600pixels so that fine.

Other than this, careful cropping of images and use of a blue fade background help a lot when posting, there is one available to print around here somewhere but I can\'t remember where! Check some of my threads its probably on there somewhere!

Again welcome to the madness!:D

Welcome to CMON!

Greymane\'s & AlexDaKid\'s advice is sound. One other little tip, make sure you give your ppicture a name. \"Another mini\" (the default name) doesn\'t go down real big and will actually cost you a few points with some voters.

and another thing...

Welcome indeed....

Remember too, that the voting can be harsh, so don\'t let it discourage you. Hopefully, folks will leave comments, which helps out immensely.

Of course, you may post the perfect 10 mini, and I could be all wet.......lol

Well first off, welcome to CMoN and the forums. :D
Secondly Post Away! We always like to see new painters work. It\'s a good sign thatyou\'ve asked for advice prior to posting the picture, so I\'ll be keeping an eye out on the listings.

Don\'t forget to update this thread when you\'ve posted it.
Again, Welcome.:D

Welcome,
Try to keep the image above 300 pixels wide and youll be OK.Bigger is not always better. For single minis I like a front shot about 400pixels wide followed by a back shot the same width underneath.
EXAMPLE LINK
This is big enough for single minis and wont show up mistakes too bad.If your a great painter then go the full 600 pixels by all means. For group shots, diaramas etc then the full 600 will be fine just keep it about 600 deep as well too keep the image filesize OK without loosing too much quality.A 600x600 image will loose quality at 100k.
These are just my preferences though, feel free to do what you want.

It\'s not in the regular rotation while its being reviewed, but you can still give us the number or a link (hint hint!) to it and we can still see it.

I think the idea behind this piece is well thought out and executed, but the paintjob and the photography let it down a bit

I think this is a great idea. You have done a great job with the setup of the diorama, and your picture montage shows a great bit of detail.

The photo itself is kind of dark and grainy, which will hurt your score.

It looks like there should be a little more attention paid to the vehicle. Not enough shading/highlighting/weathering on it.

Kudos for making the first cut, you have really captured a very dynamic scene.
