hello all,
i am in the process of ordering myself some brushes

i was wondering what are good sizes to get? at the moment i have a 10/0 and a 0

looking to get another 5 ish brushes, what sizes would be good? i am also going to buy two cheap (ish) larger brushes just for "rough" jobs, ie under coats ect

Well depending on what you paint the answer will vary. If you do any vehicles you'll want something quite a bit larger than a 0 if you dont have an airbrush. For normal things, I dont think you can go wrong with a 0, a 2/0 and a 3/0. Most everything I do i use the 0 on, but i like having the smaller brushes for those very small areas to highlight.

i have ordered an airbrush and is on its way, and i will buy a large brush for BIG work :) so i will go with a 2/0 and a 3/0 and maybe a 2, all pure red sable. and then a 5 in a mixed sable (as it is that little bit cheaper)

cheers :)

I don't know, what do you like? I also depends a great deal on which brushes you're ordering, since a 2 from one brand might be close in size to a 0 from another!

A 10/0... :rotfl:

well i ordered three rosemary and co brushes as i got a tip from a friend they were rather good so i thought i would give them a try, plus they are cheaper than GW, and i cannot remember what i ordered. oops

but i mainly paint infantry and i like small ish brushes but it is nice to have a variety of sizes, as i used to undercoat models with a fine detail brush that had about three bristles..

Big thumbs up for R&Co brushes.

I also like to have a few cheap nylon/synthetics for mixing, drybrushing, effects etc.

The cheap brushes we used to buy at school are fantastic - almost indestructible. :)
