Quitting The Hobby Seems Wrong...

It seems that everytime I try to quit but read all the fluff and enjoy everyone elses work it feels as if I should be painting again too instead of simply apprecaiting others work. Hmmm does anyone have any advice?

just do what your heart or head tells you. if you really love doing it, then keep doing it, even if its just one model at a time.

what is the reason you wanna stop?

Why would you WANT to quit? Keep painting. What harm is it doing? Believe me. I took 17 years off to raise a kid and I\'m sorry I did. I had no choice, but I regret it. Keep painting. and licking brushes.

I dunno

I don\'t honestly know I heard all this stuff like keep trying you can only improve and things like that but I read all the articles and I tried the hardest but I just couldn\'t improve. I was stuck in a rut I suppose. I recently painted a converted bailed out imperial navy pilot and I\'m posting the pictures now actually but it\'s the first In a long time I\'ve been actually proud of aside from my harlequin

The important question is wether you truly enjoy painting (I mean, are you having fun while you paint?). If you do, then don\'t quit, even if you feel that the results aren\'t what you are hoping for. If you don\'t, then quit. No reason doing something you don\'t enjoy.

Surprised no-one\'s posted this yet, but it more or less is the same advice everybody else is giving:

Haha ok thank you all, I really do enjoy painting I think I was just getting a little frustrated with my results. But I am going to keep at it cause now I wan\'t to improve just to show myself I can brake the proverbial glass ceiling. Thanks everyone!

Find a mentor. Some of the biggest leaps I have seen are where someone who is scoring 9s can give consistent advice and criticism. Posting in the WIP threads might help. Even entering the Golden Toadstools or the Wyrd competitions might give you some ideas and critique.

thats happened to me loads. it makes it all the better when you come out of it. but listen to rev though, take a break if it\'s pissing you off and you\'ll enjoy it more when you come back. don\'t forget you\'re supposed to enjoy yourself - it\'s a hobbu after all
