Rackham Basing

OK, so I\'m into Rackham mini\'s, and I\'m into the Rackham teams style. So much that I barely care to add my own style to it (YET).

One thing I notice is their basing looks like a nice green grassy field, yet they don\'t use flock. What is it? Is it just GS\\BS roll out, then dimpled, and painted snot green\\highlighted? Are the chunks of granite cork board? I like it, its simple, and looks professional, and won\'t get hurt gaming.

And, what are everyone\'s fav. grass basing techniques? Anyone figure out a nice way to make broken tiny logs\\sticks\\tall reeds or grass?

Woodland scenics makes some nice grass, but i have also got some nice stuff from odd places like shaving brush, brooms etc. Nature makes some nice leaves that you can use too!

kep (earkham) has a bloomin marvellous article about how to add plant life to bases bear in mind that it\'s a few pages long (i thought it was only one and missed the rest!!)

as for the rock, they tend to use cork tiling like ogrebane has in this thread

I always thought Rackham\'s studio models wern\'t based? Just left on the black bases, or at least all the one\'s i have seen have been.
