Please let some comments to highlight the improvements areas, some blending are not that smooth, and the mace is a bit dull, I think I will add some shadows to it with some dark glaze...

Lovely.

I agree the maul head let's it down a bit.
Perhaps at least some of the spikes showing bare metal from impact would do the trick.
I would also pick up the taupe ground color and dust it into the statue face consistent with wind deposit.
That would tie the face to the base.
Perhaps I am seeing it wrong, but it appears the right eye is looking forward and the left looks to the left ???

I would consider working the maul head and re-submitting....if the numbers are important.
I would personally give this an 8 now and a 9 with the maul work and the dusting of the statue face.

Regards,
Chris

All in....very nice.

I agree the mace head needs a little work, I'd plump for some highlights too on the spikes. The base edges let it down for me. They just seem like a lump of putty with no texture or shape. Otherwise he's nice, a solid pj. Not massive amounts of contrast but I kinda like that realistic sort of look

+1 to what others have said re the base and the mace head. You could also improve the pic by not standing him on blister foam. It sparkles too much and distracts the eye. Try printing out a kinda foggy/mottled background and curving the paper so that the mini is standing on one edge of it and the far edge curves up behind him to form a backdrop. The bigger the paper the better, as that will allow for more distance between mini and backdrop, and thereby avoid his shadow falling onto the paper behind him. It'll make a big difference, and you can play around with colours in the bg to help set off the tones in the mini.

Thanks guys, I rarely received this much constructive comments! And yes, I have exactly the same feelings... Was not so happy with the mace and you all pointed it out, but I tried and didn't find a way to make it looks better, if I highlight the edges with a light grey it doesn't look so good, how can I achieve a NMM under a rust effect?

For the base, I tried something new, bit more "muddy"/organic effect, it is cork wrapped in super sculpey then boiled for a while... I need to add something to it to make it looks better! I will see how...

And for the background I definitely need something better, I don't have printer here so I will print something at work quickly for a nicer background, I will try different gradient, dark blue --> red, light blue --> white, dark grey --> light grey. Any other suggestions?

The answer is Rust On Top of NMM
Paint the mace as NMM then add the rust effects, after all no warrior is going to allow his weapon to get so rusty as to be tottaly covered in corrosion, unless its Nurgle of course.
